In regards to fly fishing in BC, our northern winters allow us time to take stock of what we have, replenish supplies, re-organize tackle boxes and plan for this year's fishing trips. If you are like me, you took your fishing gear out of your vehicle after your final trip and put it into hiding for next season. Let me tell you, next season is almost here!

These large battery packs take up a lot of room and are pretty heavy, which adversely affects the fuel economy and the storage space in most hybrid cars. These batteries get their power from regenerative braking and/or from the gas engine. Also, they are very expensive, costing thousands of dollars to replace. Which is why they are guaranteed for the life of the car (read you warranty, some states make automakers guarantee the battery for 100,000 miles).

Most of the laptops now a day are equipped with lithium stock-ion batteries. Though there are Nickel-cadmium, Nickel metal hydride, etc, after the invention of Lithium-ion battery, because of its efficiency most of the laptop manufacturers are selling it along with their respective laptops.

Avoid deterioration from heat. Lithium-Ion accumulator cells used in today's notebooks are extremely vulnerable to heat. The notebooks are designed in a way that they drive heat away from the battery, but there are steps you can take yourself. Never close the lids on the bottom side, you can easily do that by putting them on a firm surface instead of your legs. Don't push them all the way in to the wall or against the wall with their exhaust lids as this is equally dangerous. Avoid direct sunlight whenever you can, choose a spot in your room where sun doesn't shine on the computer directly.

There are some concerns when it comes to these high powered batteries and how good they are for the environment. But all hybrid batteries are set to be recycled (Toyota has a $200 bounty on each Lithium battery stocks pack), and so unlike some lead batteries from conventional cars, they shouldn't end up in landfills.

What are you going to be using the drill for? Let's say that you are planning on building some light furniture and maybe will use the drill on weekends mostly. You probably don't need a super powerful drill with the most expensive battery technology. You could probably get by with a 12 volt drill, no need for hammering action, and you could probably do fine with a NiCad battery as opposed to Lithium Ion. Sure, a Lithium mines Ontario Ion battery would be really nice, and would charge faster, but if you aren't planning on using the drill for continuous hours at a time you could save a few bucks in this department.

Some cordless impact drills are now using lithium-ion batteries which take a lot less time to get a full charge. For instance, I personally use a Makita 18V lithium-ion impact drill and it takes fifteen minutes to charge as opposed to my standard 18V Dewalt drill. The Makita is also equipped with a built-in LED light for illuminating areas with little to no light. The LED light feature in particular is one of my favorites.

Step 4 - Connect in the newly bought battery to the board of the iPod (where you unconnected the old battery) and set it on the glue that remained on the hard drive.
